How to balance study and leisure
First - get a grip! Quit whining. If you don't like college then get out and find another way to get to the career you want or select a different profession that does not need a college degree.
Second - buy a day planner and learn (force yourself) to use it. Start by putting in all the 'stuff' you have no control over. Days and times of class, work schedule, sleep schedule, etc.
Then, add time for studying. For every hour spent in the classroom you should plan for 2 hours of study (if you want to be successful), then plug in your fun time.
If you have a hard time 'forcing' yourself to study, then remember to take frequent breaks, grab a snack, but DON'T let yourself be distracted. Try to find a "study place" so that your body knows that it's there to work. Like the library! (OK, but don't hang out where all your buddies can find you.) Also, if you're having trouble with a course, GET A TUTOR, or find the person making the best grades in the class and become their study buddy.
Good luck, make a plan, stick to it! The ability to do this will serve you well in your college and future professional life!
