本文首先阐述了苏州农村劳动力转移的客观要求，包括解决用工短缺，缩小城乡差距，提高农民素质三个方面，然后从就业人数、就业区域、就业产业分析了苏州农村劳动力转移的现状，并从中分析出存在的四大问题：农村劳动力文化素质低，技能单一、就业选择少，老龄化趋势严重，转移劳动力收入不高。最后，结合苏州农村劳动力转移的实际情况，从政府政策扶持、加强教育培训、产业结构导向、优化社会服务四个方面提出了对策。
